Rigorous Medical Education and Training

Dr. Janjua’s academic foundation was laid at Yale University School of Medicine, where he earned his MD with honors, distinguishing himself through a combination of scholarly research and clinical excellence. During his time at Yale, he was selected for the prestigious Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, where he contributed to groundbreaking studies on tissue regeneration and scar remodeling. His early exposure to cutting‑edge molecular biology and translational research forged a deep appreciation for evidence‑based practice, a principle that continues to inform his surgical decision‑making and post‑operative protocols.

Following medical school, Dr. Janjua pursued an intensive Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery Residency at Yale, a program renowned for its rigorous operative volume and emphasis on both functional and aesthetic procedures. Over the course of his five‑year residency, he performed more than 1,200 surgeries ranging from complex oncologic resections to delicate reconstructive microvascular flaps. His training encompassed a breadth of subspecialties, including skull base surgery, laryngology, and pediatric airway reconstruction, providing him with a robust skill set that transcends conventional plastic surgery boundaries. The residency’s demanding curriculum, which required mastery of both open and endoscopic techniques, honed his dexterity, spatial awareness, and ability to navigate intricate anatomical landscapes with precision.

To further refine his aesthetic acumen, Dr. Janjua completed a competitive Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at Yale University, where he worked closely with world‑leading facial plastic surgeons. This fellowship emphasized the nuanced interplay between form and function, teaching him to balance artistic vision with anatomical fidelity. He gained extensive experience in advanced facial rejuvenation techniques, such as deep plane facelifts, fat grafting, and volume restoration, as well as in minimally invasive procedures like thread lifts and injectable volumizers. The fellowship also provided him with exposure to state‑of‑the‑art technologies, including laser resurfacing, radiofrequency tightening, and 3‑D facial scanning, which he now incorporates into his practice to achieve optimal, long‑lasting results.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Janjua’s surgical repertoire is anchored in facial plastic surgery, a discipline that demands an exceptional understanding of facial anatomy, aesthetics, and functional dynamics. He is celebrated for his mastery of rhinoplasty, where he combines structural reinforcement with precise tip refinement to produce noses that are both harmonious with the patient’s facial proportions and resilient to long‑term changes. His technique often involves a hybrid approach that utilizes both open and closed methods, allowing for meticulous cartilage sculpting while minimizing visible scarring. Over the years, he has refined a personalized algorithm that assesses nasal airway function, dorsal profile, and tip projection, ensuring that each rhinoplasty not only enhances appearance but also optimizes respiratory health.

In the realm of peri‑ocular rejuvenation, Dr. Janjua excels in blepharoplasty, delivering results that restore youthful vitality without compromising ocular function. His meticulous dissection respects the delicate orbicularis oculi muscle and preserves the lacrimal apparatus, thereby reducing the risk of postoperative dry eye or ectropion. He also incorporates adjunctive procedures such as fat repositioning and laser resurfacing to address hollowness and fine lines, achieving a comprehensive rejuvenation that transcends the limitations of traditional eyelid surgery. Complementing his blepharoplasty expertise, he performs facelifts that integrate deep plane and SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) techniques, allowing for robust tissue repositioning and natural‑looking lift that endures for years.

Beyond aesthetic procedures, Dr. Janjua is a recognized authority in reconstructive and functional surgeries. He routinely performs ear reconstruction (otoplasty) for congenital deformities such as prominent ears and microtia, employing cartilage grafting and precise sculpting to achieve symmetrical, natural‑appearing ears. His experience extends to head and neck oncology, where he executes oncologic resections with meticulous margin control, followed by immediate or delayed reconstructive flaps that restore both form and function. In addition, he offers advanced liposuction and body contouring techniques that incorporate tumescent infiltration, power‑assist devices, and strategic fat grafting to achieve harmonious sculpting while preserving vital structures. His comprehensive skill set also includes sinusitis treatment through endoscopic sinus surgery, skin cancer management with Mohs micrographic surgery, and multidisciplinary headache and neck pain treatment that integrates nerve blocks, trigger point therapy, and postoperative rehabilitation.

Commitment to Patient Safety

Patient safety is the cornerstone of Dr. Janjua’s practice, a principle reinforced by his active involvement in premier professional societies. As a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), he adheres to strict ethical guidelines and participates in ongoing peer‑reviewed education that emphasizes the latest safety protocols, infection control measures, and outcome tracking methodologies. His affiliation with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) further mandates his compliance with the Society’s rigorous standards for operative excellence, continuous quality improvement, and transparent patient communication. These memberships ensure that Dr. Janjua remains at the forefront of evolving safety paradigms and that his patients benefit from the most current, evidence‑based practices.

Dr. Janjua’s dedication to safety is also reflected in his certification by the American Academy of Otolaryngology‑Head and Neck Surgery (AAO‑HNS), which requires ongoing recertification and adherence to stringent clinical competency benchmarks. He routinely engages in simulation training, cadaveric workshops, and multidisciplinary morbidity and mortality conferences to refine his techniques and mitigate risk. His operating suite is equipped with state‑of‑the‑art monitoring systems, including intra‑operative nerve monitoring, real‑time fluorescence imaging for tissue perfusion, and advanced hemostatic devices that collectively reduce intra‑operative complications and enhance postoperative recovery. Moreover, his practice employs a comprehensive pre‑operative screening protocol that evaluates cardiovascular health, coagulation status, and psychosocial readiness, thereby tailoring surgical plans to each patient’s unique risk profile.

Recognition of Dr. Janjua’s unwavering commitment to safety and excellence is evident through prestigious accolades such as the Best Facial Plastic Surgeon Award (2022) and the Top Doctor Award (2021). These honors, bestowed by independent peer panels and patient‑focused organizations, underscore his reputation for delivering superior outcomes with minimal complications. The awards also reflect his dedication to continuous improvement, as they are contingent upon rigorous evaluation of surgical results, patient satisfaction scores, and adherence to safety metrics. Dr. Janjua leverages these distinctions not as a destination but as an impetus to further elevate his standards, ensuring that every patient who walks through his doors receives care that is both safe and transformative.
