Dr. Suzanne Sirota Rozenberg - Plastic Surgeon in Woodmere, NY

Rigorous Medical Education and Training

Dr. Rozenberg earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, an institution renowned for its emphasis on a whole‑person approach to health care. During her four‑year curriculum, she excelled in courses ranging from anatomy and physiology to osteopathic manipulative medicine, graduating with honors and receiving the Dean’s Award for Clinical Excellence. Her osteopathic education instilled in her a deep appreciation for the body’s self‑healing mechanisms, a principle that later became a cornerstone of her surgical philosophy. She also completed an extensive series of clinical rotations at premier New York hospitals, where she cultivated a solid foundation in internal medicine, surgery, and emergency care, all of which sharpened her diagnostic acumen and procedural dexterity.

Following medical school, Dr. Rozenberg pursued a rigorous dermatology residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, a program celebrated for its blend of academic rigor and community service. The three‑year residency exposed her to a broad spectrum of cutaneous disorders, ranging from benign nevi to complex autoimmune dermatoses, and provided intensive training in both medical and surgical dermatology. Under the mentorship of nationally recognized dermatologic surgeons, she refined her skills in Mohs micrographic surgery, laser therapy, and reconstructive techniques, mastering the delicate balance between oncologic safety and aesthetic preservation. Her residency culminated in a scholarly dissertation on the long‑term outcomes of minimally invasive facial rejuvenation, which was subsequently published in a peer‑reviewed journal.

To further augment her expertise, Dr. Rozenberg completed a fellowship in cosmetic dermatology, where she honed advanced procedural skills such as volumizing injections, thread lifts, and high‑definition liposuction. This fellowship emphasized evidence‑based practice, patient selection criteria, and complication management, reinforcing her commitment to delivering safe, predictable, and natural‑looking results. Throughout her training, she remained actively involved in academic conferences, presenting case studies that highlighted innovative techniques and contributed to the evolving discourse on aesthetic surgery. The combination of osteopathic grounding, comprehensive dermatologic residency, and focused cosmetic fellowship equipped Dr. Rozenberg with a uniquely interdisciplinary skill set that distinguishes her practice in the highly competitive New York market.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Rozenberg’s surgical repertoire is anchored in her extensive background in dermatology, where she first mastered the art of precise tissue handling and scarless wound closure. Her expertise in dermatologic surgery includes proficiency in excisional procedures for both benign and malignant lesions, as well as advanced techniques such as staged reconstruction and tissue expansion. This foundation enables her to approach aesthetic surgery with an insider’s understanding of skin biology, vascular supply, and the subtleties of dermal remodeling. She routinely performs facial rejuvenation procedures—including rhytidectomy, brow lifts, and eyelid reconstruction—with an emphasis on preserving natural facial contours and minimizing postoperative tension, thereby reducing the incidence of hypertrophic scarring and distortion.

In addition to her dermatologic roots, Dr. Rozenberg holds board certification in family medicine, a credential that broadens her perspective on patient health and underscores her holistic approach to surgical care. This training equips her to assess systemic health factors—such as cardiovascular fitness, metabolic status, and medication interactions—that can influence surgical risk and recovery. By integrating family medicine principles into pre‑operative evaluation, she ensures that each patient’s overall health status is optimized before entering the operating room, thereby enhancing safety and promoting smoother postoperative courses. Her ability to navigate both the micro‑level of cutaneous anatomy and the macro‑level of systemic health sets her apart as a surgeon who can deliver comprehensive, patient‑centric care.

Within the realm of cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Rozenberg has become a leading authority on minimally invasive facial sculpting and body contouring. She expertly administers injectable neuromodulators, hyaluronic acid fillers, and biostimulatory agents to restore volume, define facial architecture, and rejuvenate skin texture. Her mastery of advanced laser platforms—such as fractional CO₂, pulsed dye, and picosecond lasers—allows her to treat pigmentation, vascular lesions, and skin laxity with precision and minimal downtime. Moreover, she incorporates cutting‑edge technologies like radiofrequency microneedling and high‑intensity focused ultrasound to stimulate collagen production, achieving progressive, natural‑looking improvements over time. These non‑surgical modalities complement her operative skill set, offering patients a continuum of aesthetic solutions that can be tailored to their evolving goals.

Commitment to Patient Safety

Patient safety is the cornerstone of Dr. Rozenberg’s practice, a principle reinforced by her active involvement with leading professional societies. As a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), she adheres to stringent clinical guidelines that govern procedural standards, infection control, and ethical patient communication. Her participation in the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) further underscores her dedication to the osteopathic tenet of “do no harm,” prompting her to integrate osteopathic manipulative techniques for postoperative pain management and functional restoration. Through the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), she stays abreast of the latest safety protocols, device approvals, and peer‑reviewed outcome data, ensuring that every intervention she performs reflects the highest benchmark of care.

Dr. Rozenberg’s commitment to safety has been recognized by her peers and the broader medical community. In 2021, she received the Dermatology Excellence Award from the North Shore Medical Association, an honor bestowed upon physicians who demonstrate outstanding clinical outcomes, innovative practice, and exemplary patient satisfaction. Two years earlier, she was named Physician of the Year at the Woodmere Community Health Awards, a testament to her unwavering dedication to the health and well‑being of the local population. These accolades not only celebrate her surgical skill but also highlight her proactive approach to risk mitigation, continuous quality improvement, and community outreach.

Beyond formal recognitions, Dr. Rozenberg implements a multi‑layered safety net within her clinic. She conducts comprehensive pre‑operative screenings that include laboratory assessments, cardiovascular evaluations, and detailed medication reconciliations. In the operating suite, she employs dual‑verification checklists, real‑time monitoring of vital signs, and advanced anesthesia techniques that prioritize patient comfort while minimizing systemic stress. Post‑procedure, she utilizes evidence‑based protocols for wound care, pain control, and early detection of complications, coupled with a 24‑hour hotline that allows patients to reach her team at any time. This systematic, patient‑first methodology ensures that safety is not an afterthought but an integral component of every stage of care.
