Dr. Reza Momeni - Plastic Surgeon in Berkeley Heights, NJ

Dr. Momeni earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a prestigious Ivy League medical school, where he graduated with honors and distinguished himself through a combination of academic excellence and clinical curiosity. During his undergraduate years, he pursued a rigorous pre‑medical curriculum, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on cellular physiology and genetics, which laid a solid foundation for his later specialization. His medical school experience was marked by a commitment to research, resulting in multiple peer‑reviewed publications on wound healing, tissue remodeling, and the molecular mechanisms underlying scar formation.

Following medical school, Dr. Momeni completed a demanding residency in General Surgery at a top‑ranked academic medical center, where he refined his operative skills across a broad spectrum of procedures, from complex abdominal surgeries to intricate vascular reconstructions. His residency was distinguished by a series of accolades, including the Resident Teaching Award, reflecting his natural aptitude for mentorship and his dedication to fostering a collaborative learning environment among his peers. Throughout this period, he also served as a chief resident, overseeing a team of junior surgeons while maintaining a relentless focus on patient safety and outcome optimization.

His pursuit of excellence continued with a highly competitive fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, where he immersed himself in both aesthetic and reconstructive disciplines. During this fellowship, Dr. Momeni trained under world‑renowned mentors, gaining exposure to cutting‑edge techniques such as microsurgical free‑flap transfers, 3‑D imaging for pre‑operative planning, and advanced facial rejuvenation protocols. He also completed a research rotation that produced a landmark study on the long‑term durability of autologous fat grafting, further cementing his reputation as a surgeon who bridges clinical practice with scientific inquiry.

Surgical Expertise

In the realm of breast augmentation, Dr. Momeni is celebrated for his nuanced understanding of implant selection, pocket placement, and aesthetic balance. He utilizes a patient‑specific algorithm that considers chest wall dimensions, soft‑tissue quality, and desired outcomes to recommend the optimal implant size, shape, and surface texture. His meticulous technique—whether employing a submuscular, subglandular, or dual‑plane approach—ensures minimal scarring, precise positioning, and a natural feel that aligns with each patient’s body contour. Moreover, his commitment to ongoing postoperative monitoring allows him to address any concerns promptly, thereby preserving the longevity and harmony of the surgical result.

Liposuction, a cornerstone of body contouring, is another area where Dr. Momeni demonstrates unparalleled skill. He adopts a multimodal strategy that combines traditional tumescent infiltration with advanced energy‑based devices such as ultrasonic and radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis. This hybrid approach maximizes fat removal while simultaneously stimulating collagen remodeling, resulting in smoother, tighter skin that enhances overall body silhouette. Dr. Momeni’s attention to the three‑dimensional dynamics of adipose distribution enables him to sculpt the abdomen, flanks, thighs, and arms with a level of precision that yields lasting, natural‑looking outcomes.

The abdominoplasty, commonly known as a tummy tuck, showcases Dr. Momeni’s ability to integrate aesthetic refinement with functional restoration. He meticulously evaluates each patient’s abdominal wall integrity, addressing diastasis recti, excess skin, and localized fat deposits in a single, coordinated procedure. By employing refined fascial plication techniques, strategic liposuction, and meticulous wound closure, he achieves a flat, toned abdomen that not only meets cosmetic expectations but also improves core strength and posture. His comprehensive postoperative protocol—incorporating scar management, activity progression, and nutritional guidance—ensures a smooth recovery and optimal aesthetic durability.

Commitment to Patient Safety

Dr. Momeni’s unwavering dedication to patient safety is reflected in his active membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), an organization that sets the highest standards for ethical practice, continuing education, and peer‑reviewed research. Through ASPS, he participates in regular safety workshops, contributes to consensus guidelines, and stays abreast of emerging best practices in peri‑operative care. This affiliation underscores his commitment to a culture of accountability, where every procedural step—from pre‑operative assessment to postoperative follow‑up—is scrutinized through a lens of risk mitigation and quality assurance.

In recognition of his exceptional patient‑focused care, Dr. Momeni has been honored with the Patient Choice Award, a distinction that celebrates surgeons who consistently deliver outstanding outcomes, compassionate communication, and transparent decision‑making. This award is based on rigorous patient surveys and peer evaluations, highlighting his ability to foster trust, alleviate concerns, and exceed expectations throughout the surgical journey. The accolade serves as a testament to his holistic approach, where safety is not merely a protocol but an integral component of the therapeutic relationship.

Beyond accolades, Dr. Momeni implements a comprehensive safety framework within his practice, incorporating evidence‑based protocols such as the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist, intra‑operative monitoring of vital parameters, and strict infection control measures. He leverages state‑of‑the‑art surgical suites equipped with advanced anesthesia delivery systems, real‑time imaging, and emergency response capabilities. Moreover, he maintains an open dialogue with patients regarding potential risks, alternative treatments, and realistic expectations, ensuring that informed consent is both thorough and compassionate.
