Surgical Expertise

Dr. Familusi’s surgical portfolio encompasses a broad spectrum of plastic surgery, with a particular emphasis on reconstructive interventions that restore form and function after trauma, oncologic resection, or congenital anomalies. His expertise in microsurgical reconstruction includes the execution of complex free‑flap procedures, such as the deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap for breast reconstruction, and the anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap for head and neck defects. By employing meticulous vascular anastomosis techniques and leveraging cutting‑edge intraoperative imaging, he consistently achieves high flap survival rates, minimizing postoperative complications and expediting patient recovery.

In the realm of aesthetic surgery, Dr. Familusi is celebrated for his refined approach to facial rejuvenation, body contouring, and breast augmentation. His facial procedures—ranging from rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty to facelifts and fat grafting—are guided by a nuanced understanding of facial proportions, ethnic considerations, and the subtle interplay of soft tissue dynamics. He utilizes a combination of traditional surgical methods and minimally invasive technologies, such as ultrasonic liposuction and laser resurfacing, to deliver results that are both natural‑looking and enduring. Patients often commend his ability to achieve harmonious balance without compromising the individuality of their features.

Beyond individual procedures, Dr. Familusi excels in comprehensive reconstructive programs that integrate multidisciplinary collaboration. He routinely partners with oncologists, radiation therapists, and physical therapists to orchestrate seamless care pathways for patients undergoing mastectomy, limb salvage, or complex craniofacial reconstruction. His leadership in multidisciplinary tumor boards ensures that surgical plans are synchronized with adjuvant therapies, optimizing oncologic outcomes while preserving aesthetic integrity. This integrative model underscores his commitment to holistic patient care, where functional restoration and cosmetic refinement are pursued in tandem.

Dr. Familusi’s commitment to surgical innovation is further evidenced by his active involvement in clinical trials exploring novel biomaterials, regenerative scaffolds, and 3‑D printed surgical guides. By integrating these emerging technologies into his operative repertoire, he has pioneered techniques that reduce operative time, enhance precision, and improve postoperative scar quality. His contributions have been recognized with several research grants and invitations to present at premier surgical forums, positioning him as a vanguard in the evolution of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
