Throughout his four years of intensive study, he excelled in courses ranging from biomaterials and prosthodontics to advanced oral surgery, consistently ranking among the top of his class. His clinical rotations exposed him to a wide spectrum of cases, from routine prophylaxis to complex reconstructive procedures, allowing him to develop a nuanced appreciation for the delicate balance between functional restoration and aesthetic enhancement. Moreover, Loma Linda’s mission-driven environment, which integrates faith‑based service with cutting‑edge research, instilled in Dr. Negru a deep sense of purpose that continues to inform his practice philosophy.

Following his DDS, Dr. Negru pursued a series of post‑doctoral residencies and fellowships designed to sharpen his expertise in cosmetic dentistry and general dentistry. He completed a rigorous General Dentistry Residency at the University of Washington, where he honed his surgical dexterity, mastered advanced restorative protocols, and gained hands‑on experience with digital imaging and computer‑aided design (CAD/CAM) technologies. This residency emphasized evidence‑based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient‑centered care, reinforcing Dr. Negru’s commitment to delivering outcomes that are both scientifically sound and artistically refined. Recognizing the growing demand for aesthetic dental solutions, he subsequently enrolled in a specialized Cosmetic Dentistry Fellowship at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), where he refined his skill set in veneer placement, smile redesign, and minimally invasive enamel reshaping techniques. This fellowship also afforded him the opportunity to work alongside internationally recognized masters of dental artistry, absorbing their philosophies on color matching, translucency, and the subtle nuances that distinguish a good smile from a great one.

Dr. Negru’s educational journey has been punctuated by a series of prestigious scholarships, research grants, and academic accolades that underscore his dedication to scholarly excellence. While at Loma Linda, he authored a peer‑reviewed paper on the long‑term durability of nano‑filled composite resins, contributing valuable data to the field’s understanding of material longevity. He also presented findings at the International Conference on Dental Materials, earning commendation for his clear articulation of complex concepts. Throughout his residency, Dr. Negru was selected for the National Dental Association’s Emerging Leader Program, a selective cohort that identifies promising clinicians who demonstrate both technical prowess and a commitment to community service. Surgical Expertise

In the realm of cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Michael P. Negru has earned a reputation as a virtuoso of smile transformation, leveraging a blend of artistic intuition and meticulous technique to deliver results that are both striking and natural. His expertise encompasses a full spectrum of aesthetic procedures, including porcelain laminate veneers, full‑coverage crowns, and innovative tooth‑whitening protocols that are calibrated to each patient’s unique shade preferences. Dr. Negru’s approach to veneer placement, for instance, is distinguished by his use of ultra‑thin, high‑strength lithium disilicate ceramics, which provide superior translucency and durability while preserving maximal enamel. He employs a digital workflow that begins with a comprehensive intra‑oral scan, followed by computer‑aided design of the final restoration, allowing for precise marginal adaptation and an unparalleled fit. This meticulous process minimizes postoperative sensitivity, shortens chair‑time, and ensures that the final prosthesis integrates seamlessly with the patient’s natural dentition.

Beyond veneers, Dr. Negru’s surgical repertoire extends to full‑mouth rehabilitations, where he orchestrates complex interdisciplinary treatment plans involving orthodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontics. In such cases, he often utilizes minimally invasive surgical techniques to correct alveolar bone deficiencies, employing bone grafts and guided tissue regeneration to establish a stable foundation for subsequent restorations. His proficiency with digital implant planning software enables him to accurately position implants in three dimensions, optimizing both functional load distribution and aesthetic emergence profiles. Dr. Negru’s commitment to preserving natural tooth structure is evident in his judicious use of adhesive bonding protocols, which allow for conservative preparation designs that respect the integrity of the remaining enamel. By integrating state‑of‑the‑art technology with a deep respect for biological principles, he achieves outcomes that are both durable and visually harmonious.

In general dentistry, Dr. Negru’s skill set is equally expansive, encompassing preventive care, endodontic therapy, and restorative procedures that address the full gamut of oral health concerns. He is particularly adept at diagnosing and managing complex occlusal disorders, employing occlusal analysis tools such as T‑Scan technology to pinpoint high‑stress points and develop customized occlusal equilibration strategies. His endodontic interventions are performed with a focus on preserving tooth vitality whenever possible, utilizing rotary instrumentation and bioceramic sealers to achieve a hermetic seal that minimizes postoperative complications. When restorative work is required, Dr. Negru favors the use of fiber‑reinforced composite materials that emulate the natural flexural properties of dentin, thereby reducing the risk of fracture under functional loads. His comprehensive approach ensures that each patient receives a cohesive treatment plan that addresses immediate concerns while also safeguarding long‑term oral health.

Commitment to Patient Safety

Patient safety is the cornerstone of Dr. Michael P. Negru’s practice philosophy, a principle that is reinforced by his active involvement with leading professional organizations such as the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Oregon Dental Association (ODA). By adhering to the rigorous standards set forth by the ADA, Dr. Negru ensures that his practice maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, including those related to radiation safety, sterilization processes, and patient confidentiality.

Dr. Negru’s dedication to safety is further exemplified by the numerous accolades he has received from his professional community. In 2022, he was honored with the Best Cosmetic Dentist Award by the Oregon Dental Society, a distinction that recognizes not only his aesthetic mastery but also his unwavering commitment to patient welfare. These honors underscore his reputation as a practitioner who places patient safety at the forefront of every procedural decision.

In his day‑to‑day practice, Dr. Negru employs a multi‑layered safety framework that starts with a thorough medical history review, extending to a detailed risk assessment for each proposed intervention. He integrates digital radiography and cone‑beam computed tomography (CBCT) to obtain high‑resolution images while minimizing radiation exposure, employing ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles. Sterilization protocols are rigorously enforced, with autoclave cycles validated daily and single‑use instruments utilized whenever feasible. Dr. Negru also incorporates pre‑operative antimicrobial rinses and postoperative analgesic regimens that are tailored to each patient’s medical profile, thus reducing the likelihood of infection and ensuring a comfortable recovery. By maintaining open lines of communication, he educates patients on post‑operative care, signs of complications, and the importance of follow‑up appointments, fostering a partnership that enhances safety and promotes optimal outcomes.
