Rigorous Medical Education and Training

Dr. Ho Erb earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, where she distinguished herself academically and clinically by graduating at the top of her class. During her medical training, she completed a series of rigorous clerkships that exposed her to a broad spectrum of surgical disciplines, yet she found her true calling in the intricate world of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. At UC Irvine, she participated in groundbreaking research projects focused on tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, publishing multiple peer‑reviewed articles that explored the potential of stem cell applications in facial rejuvenation. Her academic excellence was recognized with several honors, including the Dean’s Award for Clinical Excellence and the Outstanding Student Research Award, underscoring her early commitment to both scientific inquiry and patient‑centered care.

Following medical school, Dr. Ho Erb pursued a highly competitive residency in Plastic Surgery at a premier academic institution, where she refined her operative skills under the mentorship of world‑renowned plastic surgeons. The residency program emphasized a comprehensive curriculum that blended complex reconstructive cases—such as microsurgical free‑flap transfers for head and neck defects—with aesthetic procedures that demanded a delicate balance of form and function. Throughout her residency, she mastered a broad array of techniques, ranging from intricate craniofacial reconstructions to nuanced facial rejuvenation strategies, all while maintaining a steadfast focus on patient safety and ethical practice. Her exemplary performance earned her the Resident Teaching Award, reflecting her dedication to educating junior colleagues and fostering a collaborative learning environment.

To further specialize in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Ho Erb completed a prestigious fellowship in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at the University of Southern California, where she honed her expertise in both surgical and non‑surgical facial procedures. The fellowship offered intensive exposure to cutting‑edge technologies, including three‑dimensional imaging, laser resurfacing, and advanced dermal filler techniques, allowing her to stay at the forefront of emerging trends. Additionally, she undertook a supplemental academic rotation at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Department of Plastic Surgery, where she contributed to multidisciplinary research initiatives focused on scar modulation and innovative postoperative protocols. These combined experiences cemented her reputation as a surgeon who seamlessly integrates scientific rigor with artistic sensibility, and they prepared her to deliver the highest standard of care to her patients in Irvine, California.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Ho Erb’s surgical repertoire is distinguished by an expansive portfolio that encompasses both non‑invasive and operative interventions, each performed with meticulous precision and an eye for aesthetic balance. In the realm of non‑invasive treatments, she is widely recognized for her mastery of Botox injections and dermal filler therapies, which she tailors to each patient’s unique facial anatomy and functional needs. Her approach to neuromodulators goes beyond mere wrinkle reduction; she strategically utilizes Botox to address hyperhidrosis, migraine prophylaxis, and facial asymmetry, thereby delivering functional relief alongside cosmetic enhancement. Similarly, her expertise in dermal fillers extends to volumizing the midface, augmenting the lips, and restoring age‑related volume loss, all while maintaining natural movement and avoiding the “overfilled” look that can compromise facial harmony.

Laser therapy represents another cornerstone of Dr. Ho Erb’s practice, where she employs state‑of‑the‑art fractional laser systems, intense pulsed light (IPL), and radiofrequency devices to address a spectrum of skin concerns. Her laser protocols are customized to treat pigmentation irregularities, vascular lesions, and textural irregularities, as well as to stimulate collagen remodeling for subtle skin tightening. By integrating laser resurfacing with adjunctive skincare regimens and post‑procedure monitoring, she achieves results that are both durable and minimally disruptive to patients’ daily lives. Her commitment to ongoing education ensures that she remains adept with the latest advancements, such as picosecond lasers for tattoo removal and non‑ablative modalities for deeper dermal rejuvenation.

When it comes to operative facial aesthetics, Dr. Ho Erb is especially renowned for her proficiency in blepharoplasty, a procedure that demands both functional restoration and artistic refinement. She approaches eyelid surgery with a comprehensive assessment of the peri‑ocular anatomy, evaluating factors such as eyelid laxity, fat prolapse, and skin redundancy to devise a personalized surgical plan. Whether performing upper eyelid correction to improve visual fields or lower eyelid rejuvenation to address tear trough deformities, her technique emphasizes minimal scarring, precise tissue handling, and preservation of natural contours. In addition to blepharoplasty, Dr. Ho Erb excels in a full spectrum of facial aesthetic plastic surgeries—including rhytidectomy (facelift), brow lifts, and facial contouring procedures—leveraging her deep understanding of facial proportions to achieve results that are both subtle and transformative, enhancing patients’ natural beauty while preserving their unique identity.
