Rigorous Medical Education and Training

Dr. Linda M. Globerman’s journey toward becoming a leading surgeon began at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, where she earned her MD with honors. Throughout her medical school years, she distinguished herself academically, earning multiple dean’s list recognitions and securing research grants that explored the molecular pathways of skin regeneration. Her curriculum was marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge, encompassing not only the core sciences of anatomy, physiology, and pathology but also an early immersion into the principles of aesthetic medicine. This foundation laid the groundwork for her later specialization, fostering an appreciation for the delicate balance between form and function that defines modern plastic surgery.

Following medical school, Dr. Globerman pursued a rigorous residency in dermatology, where she honed her diagnostic acumen and refined her surgical dexterity. During this period, she rotated through high‑volume academic centers, gaining exposure to a wide spectrum of cutaneous disorders, from benign neoplasms to complex reconstructive challenges. Her residency mentors noted her innate ability to translate intricate histopathological findings into precise operative plans, a skill that would become a signature element of her practice. In addition to clinical duties, she contributed to several clinical trials focused on novel laser therapies, publishing her findings in peer‑reviewed journals and presenting at national dermatology meetings.

To further specialize in dermatologic surgery, Dr. Globerman completed a fellowship that emphasized both aesthetic and reconstructive techniques. The fellowship program, renowned for its emphasis on microsurgical precision and innovative procedural development, provided her with hands‑on experience in advanced flap design, scar revision, and minimally invasive cosmetic interventions. She mastered the art of tissue handling, vascular preservation, and tension‑free closure—principles that are essential for achieving optimal aesthetic outcomes while minimizing postoperative complications. Her fellowship culminated in a capstone research project that investigated the long‑term outcomes of combined laser resurfacing and fat grafting, a study that has since been cited extensively in the field.

Beyond formal training, Dr. Globerman has pursued continuous professional development through a series of specialized workshops and certifications. She is certified in laser safety, possesses board certification in dermatology, and holds advanced credentials in cosmetic injectables and facial anatomy. These pursuits reflect her commitment to maintaining a comprehensive skill set that encompasses both the art of aesthetic enhancement and the science of safe, evidence‑based practice. Her educational trajectory, marked by a blend of academic excellence, surgical mastery, and research innovation, positions her as a thought leader among her peers.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Globerman’s surgical repertoire is anchored in dermatology and dermatologic surgery, yet her expertise extends seamlessly into the broader arena of plastic surgery. She is widely recognized for her mastery of facial rejuvenation, employing a nuanced blend of surgical and non‑surgical techniques to restore youthful contours while preserving natural facial expression. Her approach to facelift procedures incorporates deep plane dissection, precise SMAS manipulation, and strategic skin tightening, resulting in outcomes that are both enduring and subtle. By integrating adjunctive technologies such as radiofrequency tightening and high‑intensity focused ultrasound, she enhances tissue remodeling and accelerates postoperative recovery, setting a new benchmark for patient satisfaction.

In addition to facial aesthetics, Dr. Globerman excels in body contouring procedures, including liposuction, abdominoplasty, and thigh lifts. Her meticulous pre‑operative planning utilizes three‑dimensional imaging to map adipose distribution, vascular anatomy, and skin elasticity, allowing her to tailor each procedure to the individual’s unique anatomy. She employs power‑assist liposuction, tumescent infiltration, and progressive tension suturing to achieve smooth, natural‑looking results with minimal scarring. Her dedication to preserving neurovascular structures and minimizing tissue trauma underscores her commitment to achieving optimal functional and aesthetic outcomes.

Dermatologic surgery occupies a central pillar of Dr. Globerman’s practice, where she addresses both cosmetic and oncologic concerns with equal proficiency. She performs excisional surgeries for basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma with a focus on complete oncologic clearance and aesthetic reconstruction. Her expertise in flap reconstruction—ranging from local advancement flaps to complex rotational and perforator flaps—enables her to restore form and function after tumor removal, often in anatomically challenging regions such as the nose, ears, and periorbital area. These reconstructive efforts are complemented by her skill in scar revision, where she utilizes layered closure techniques, laser resurfacing, and silicone therapy to mitigate hypertrophic scarring and improve skin texture.

Beyond traditional surgical interventions, Dr. Globerman is a pioneer in regenerative aesthetic medicine. She incorporates autologous fat grafting, platelet‑rich plasma (PRP) therapy, and stem cell‑enhanced fillers to address volume loss, skin laxity, and texture irregularities. Her protocol for fat grafting emphasizes meticulous harvesting, purification, and micro‑injection, ensuring high graft viability and long‑lasting results. By synergizing these regenerative modalities with conventional surgical techniques, she offers patients a comprehensive suite of options that can be tailored to both immediate and long‑term aesthetic goals.

Commitment to Patient Safety

Patient safety is the cornerstone of Dr. Globerman’s practice, a principle that is reinforced through her active involvement with leading professional societies such as the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). As a member of these organizations, she adheres to rigorous standards for clinical practice, participates in ongoing peer‑review processes, and contributes to the development of safety guidelines that shape the field. Her dedication to continuous quality improvement is evident in her implementation of standardized pre‑operative checklists, intra‑operative monitoring protocols, and postoperative surveillance systems that collectively reduce the incidence of complications and enhance overall patient outcomes.

Dr. Globerman’s commitment to safety is further demonstrated by her receipt of the Dermatology Excellence Award and the Top Dermatologist Award, honors that recognize her outstanding clinical performance, ethical practice, and innovative contributions to patient care. These accolades are a testament to her unwavering focus on delivering care that meets the highest benchmarks of safety, efficacy, and patient satisfaction. In her clinic, she employs evidence‑based infection control measures, including sterile technique reinforcement, prophylactic antibiotic stewardship, and meticulous wound care protocols, thereby minimizing the risk of postoperative infections and ensuring optimal healing trajectories.

In addition to institutional safeguards, Dr. Globerman integrates advanced technology to enhance procedural safety. She utilizes intra‑operative imaging, digital mapping, and real‑time Doppler assessment to identify and protect critical vascular and neural structures during surgery. Her adoption of laser safety protocols, guided by AAD recommendations, includes calibrated energy settings, protective eyewear, and rigorous staff training, all of which mitigate the risk of laser‑related injuries. Moreover, she maintains a robust incident reporting system that encourages transparent documentation of any adverse events, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning within her practice.

Education and informed consent are also pivotal components of Dr. Globerman’s safety strategy. She devotes ample time to patient counseling, ensuring that individuals fully understand the risks, benefits, and realistic expectations associated with each procedure. By providing comprehensive educational materials, detailed procedural videos, and personalized risk assessments, she empowers patients to make well‑informed decisions and actively participate in their own safety planning. This collaborative approach not only enhances trust but also serves as a critical deterrent against potential complications arising from misunderstandings or unrealistic expectations.
