During her medical school tenure, she distinguished herself as a top performer in both basic sciences and clinical rotations, earning accolades for her diagnostic acumen and compassionate bedside manner. Her undergraduate foundation in biomedical engineering further sharpened her analytical abilities, allowing her to approach complex surgical problems with a unique blend of technical precision and creative insight. The University of Chicago’s culture of inquiry inspired Dr. Casas to pursue a research fellowship, during which she contributed to peer‑reviewed publications on tissue regeneration and scar modulation—work that would later inform her innovative surgical techniques.

Following medical school, Dr. Casas completed a demanding residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Chicago, a program celebrated for its comprehensive exposure to reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. Throughout her residency, she rotated through high‑volume tertiary care centers, mastering microsurgical reconstruction, craniofacial surgery, and complex wound management. Her mentors praised her for an uncanny ability to translate anatomical knowledge into elegant operative strategies, a skill that earned her the Residency Excellence Award in her final year. In addition to clinical mastery, Dr. Casas served as a teaching assistant, guiding junior residents through cadaveric dissections and fostering a collaborative learning environment that emphasized safety, precision, and ethical practice.

To deepen her expertise in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Casas pursued a prestigious fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery also at the University of Chicago. This fellowship provided intensive, hands‑on training in cutting‑edge facial rejuvenation, breast augmentation, and body contouring techniques, under the tutelage of nationally recognized aesthetic surgeons. She participated in a series of live‑demonstrated surgeries, mastering the art of minimally invasive approaches, fat grafting, and the latest implant technologies. Her commitment to evidence‑based practice was evident in her systematic review of postoperative outcomes, which contributed to a landmark guideline on patient selection for facial aesthetic procedures. The fellowship culminated in a capstone project that explored the integration of 3‑D imaging in pre‑operative planning, a innovation that Dr. Casas now routinely employs in her Glenview practice.
