Dr. Keshini Parbhu - Plastic Surgeon in Windermere, FL

Rigorous Medical Education and Training

Dr. Parbhu earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, an institution renowned for its emphasis on research-driven clinical excellence and interdisciplinary collaboration. At Vanderbilt, she distinguished herself not only through academic achievement but also by engaging in multiple translational research projects that explored the molecular underpinnings of wound healing and scar formation. Her senior thesis investigated the role of fibroblast‑mediated extracellular matrix remodeling in post‑surgical recovery, laying a scientific foundation that would later inform her nuanced approach to facial rejuvenation and reconstructive procedures.

Following medical school, Dr. Parbhu pursued a rigorous residency in ophthalmology, completing her training at a leading academic center where she refined her diagnostic acumen and surgical dexterity. The residency program offered a comprehensive exposure to the full spectrum of ocular disease, including complex corneal disorders, glaucoma management, and retinal pathology. It was during this period that she cultivated a particular affinity for peri‑ocular anatomy, recognizing the delicate interplay between ocular function and facial aesthetics. Her dedication earned her multiple commendations for operative excellence and a reputation as a meticulous surgeon who consistently achieved superior visual outcomes.

To further specialize, Dr. Parbhu completed a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), a program celebrated for its pioneering techniques in eyelid and orbital reconstruction. At UAB, she mastered advanced oculoplastic procedures, ranging from blepharoplasty and ptosis repair to complex orbital tumor excisions and reconstructive grafting. Her fellowship research focused on the long‑term durability of autologous fascia lata grafts in lower eyelid suspension, a study that was later published in a high‑impact ophthalmic journal and has since been cited as a reference for best practices in the field. The combination of her rigorous academic background, extensive surgical training, and a commitment to evidence‑based practice positions Dr. Parbhu as a uniquely qualified surgeon in both ophthalmology and aesthetic medicine.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Parbhu’s surgical repertoire is anchored in oculoplastic surgery, a subspecialty that demands precision, an intimate knowledge of orbital anatomy, and an artistic sensibility for facial harmony. She routinely performs upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasties, addressing both cosmetic concerns such as excess skin and deep‑set hollows, as well as functional issues like lagophthalmos and visual field obstruction. Her technique emphasizes minimal tissue disruption, careful preservation of the orbicularis oculi muscle, and meticulous suturing to achieve smooth, natural‑looking results that age gracefully with the patient.

In addition to eyelid surgery, Dr. Parbhu excels in reconstructive ophthalmic procedures that restore both form and function after trauma, tumor resection, or congenital malformations. She has successfully reconstructed complex orbital defects using a combination of autologous tissue grafts, alloplastic implants, and innovative flap techniques, ensuring optimal ocular protection and aesthetic integration. Her expertise extends to ptosis correction, where she employs both anterior and posterior approaches to achieve symmetric, long‑lasting eyelid elevation, and to lacrimal system surgeries that alleviate chronic epiphora while preserving tear drainage physiology.

Beyond the scope of traditional oculoplastic work, Dr. Parbhu has cultivated a prolific practice in cosmetic facial surgery, offering procedures such as mid‑face lifts, chin augmentations, and facial contouring that complement her eyelid work. She combines her deep understanding of facial skeletal structure with refined soft‑tissue manipulation to deliver harmonious results that respect each patient’s unique facial proportions. Moreover, she is proficient in non‑surgical facial procedures, including dermal filler placement, neuromodulator injections, and laser skin resurfacing, providing a comprehensive suite of options for patients seeking subtle rejuvenation without invasive surgery. Her ability to seamlessly integrate surgical and non‑surgical modalities positions her as a versatile practitioner capable of addressing a full spectrum of aesthetic goals.

Commitment to Patient Safety

Patient safety is the cornerstone of Dr. Parbhu’s practice, guided by her active involvement in several leading professional societies. As a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, she adheres to the Academy’s rigorous standards for clinical care, continuing education, and ethical practice. Her participation in the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) further underscores her dedication to specialty‑specific safety protocols, including the adoption of evidence‑based peri‑operative guidelines, infection control measures, and postoperative monitoring strategies that mitigate complications and promote optimal healing.

Within the state of Florida, Dr. Parbhu maintains active membership in the Florida Society of Ophthalmology and the Orlando Ophthalmology Society, organizations that foster regional collaboration, peer review, and the dissemination of best practices. Her contributions to these societies have been recognized repeatedly; she has been honored as one of Orlando’s Best Doctors annually since 2013, a testament to her consistent excellence in clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Additionally, Dr. Parbhu received the Volunteer Faculty Recognition Award for her mentorship of resident physicians and her commitment to community health initiatives, reflecting her broader dedication to the safety and education of both patients and future practitioners.

In her clinic, Dr. Parbhu implements a comprehensive safety framework that spans pre‑operative assessment, intra‑operative vigilance, and post‑operative care. She utilizes state‑of‑the‑art imaging, digital surgical planning, and intra‑operative nerve monitoring to anticipate anatomical variations and reduce the risk of inadvertent injury. Post‑procedure, she employs a structured follow‑up protocol that includes telemedicine check‑ins, wound assessment tools, and patient education modules designed to empower individuals to recognize early signs of infection or adverse reactions. This layered approach to safety not only aligns with the highest standards of the specialty but also cultivates a culture of trust and confidence among her patients.
