Her academic tenure was marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, culminating in a senior thesis that explored innovative wound‑healing pathways, a project that later informed her clinical strategies for scar minimization and tissue preservation.

Following medical school, Dr. Behr embarked on a demanding Dermatology Residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, a program renowned for its intensive exposure to both medical and surgical dermatology. At UCLA, she honed her diagnostic acumen, mastering the subtleties of dermatoscopic evaluation, complex inflammatory disorders, and the early detection of malignancies. Her residency experience was enriched by a robust surgical curriculum that provided hands‑on training in excisional procedures, reconstructive flaps, and grafting techniques, laying the groundwork for her later specialization in aesthetic and oncologic skin surgery. Throughout this period, Dr. Behr demonstrated an unwavering dedication to patient safety, earning commendations for her meticulous operative records and compassionate bedside manner.

To further refine her expertise, Dr. Behr pursued a Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery at the University of Southern California, an elite program that demands mastery of precise tumor mapping, layered excision, and immediate histopathologic evaluation. Under the mentorship of world‑renowned Mohs surgeons, she acquired unparalleled proficiency in the delicate balance between complete oncologic clearance and maximal tissue preservation. This fellowship not only solidified her technical skill set but also deepened her appreciation for the interdisciplinary collaboration required between dermatology, pathology, and reconstructive surgery. The culmination of her extensive education and training has equipped Dr. Behr with a rare blend of scientific rigor, surgical artistry, and compassionate patient care that distinguishes her as a leader in both aesthetic and therapeutic dermatologic practice.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Behr’s surgical repertoire encompasses a comprehensive spectrum of cosmetic dermatology, where she expertly blends cutting‑edge technology with time‑tested techniques to sculpt, rejuvenate, and restore the skin’s natural vitality. Her proficiency in facial rejuvenation includes the strategic placement of dermal fillers, neuromodulators, and volumizing agents that address age‑related volume loss, dynamic wrinkles, and loss of skin elasticity. By employing a meticulous layer‑by‑layer approach, she achieves results that are both subtle and transformative, preserving the patient’s unique facial architecture while delivering a refreshed, youthful appearance. Her nuanced understanding of facial anatomy, combined with an artistic eye for proportion, enables her to tailor each procedure to the individual’s aesthetic goals.

Beyond aesthetic enhancements, Dr. Behr is a distinguished authority in skin cancer therapy, leveraging her Mohs micrographic surgery expertise to deliver curative treatment with unparalleled precision. In the management of basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma in situ, she employs a stepwise, tissue‑conserving technique that meticulously removes malignant cells while sparing healthy surrounding tissue. Her surgical strategy incorporates real‑time histopathologic analysis, ensuring complete oncologic clearance in a single operative session and dramatically reducing recurrence rates. Patients benefit from her comprehensive approach that integrates oncologic eradication with immediate reconstructive planning, resulting in optimal functional and cosmetic outcomes.

In the realm of aesthetic dermatology, Dr. Behr has embraced the transformative potential of laser therapy, employing a suite of FDA‑approved devices to address a myriad of cutaneous concerns. From fractional CO₂ lasers that stimulate neocollagenesis and remodel scar tissue, to pulsed dye lasers that target vascular lesions and erythema, her laser protocols are customized to each patient’s skin type, condition severity, and recovery timeline. She also utilizes intense pulsed light (IPL) technology for pigmentary disorders, photorejuvenation, and hair removal, delivering precise energy delivery that maximizes efficacy while minimizing downtime. Her mastery of laser physics, coupled with an in‑depth understanding of tissue response, allows her to orchestrate safe, effective, and enduring improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.
