Dr. Turkle earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine, where she graduated with honors and was recognized for her research on wound healing dynamics in a peer‑reviewed journal. During her pre‑clinical years, she distinguished herself as a scholar‑athlete, balancing rigorous coursework with leadership roles in the Student Government Association and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Her senior thesis explored the molecular pathways of scar formation, laying a scientific foundation that would later inform her innovative scar‑minimization techniques. The breadth of her academic pursuits was complemented by clinical rotations that exposed her to a wide spectrum of surgical specialties, fostering a deep appreciation for the interplay between reconstructive principles and aesthetic refinement.

Following medical school, Dr. Turkle pursued a highly competitive residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan, an institution renowned for its pioneering contributions to microsurgical reconstruction and craniofacial innovation. Over the course of her six‑year residency, she mastered complex flap procedures, hand reconstruction, and congenital anomaly correction, while also engaging in extensive research on tissue engineering and bio‑resorbable scaffolds. Her dedication earned her multiple accolades, including the Resident Research Award for her groundbreaking work on adipose‑derived stem cells in facial rejuvenation. The University of Michigan’s collaborative environment allowed Dr. Turkle to work alongside leading experts in orthopedics, otolaryngology, and oncology, broadening her surgical repertoire and reinforcing a multidisciplinary mindset.

To further refine her aesthetic sensibilities, Dr. Turkle completed a prestigious fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery at Harvard Medical School’s renowned Center for Cosmetic Innovation. Under the mentorship of world‑class aesthetic surgeons, she honed advanced techniques in facial rejuvenation, body contouring, and minimally invasive procedures, while also delving into the psychosocial dimensions of cosmetic surgery. The fellowship emphasized evidence‑based practice, patient safety, and the ethical considerations of elective procedures, reinforcing the principles that now define her practice. Throughout this period, Dr. Turkle authored several high‑impact publications and presented her findings at international symposia, cementing her reputation as a thought leader who bridges the gap between academic rigor and artistic expression.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Turkle’s surgical portfolio encompasses a comprehensive array of plastic surgery procedures, ranging from intricate microsurgical reconstructions to refined aesthetic enhancements. In reconstructive surgery, she is acclaimed for her mastery of free‑tissue transfer, employing the deep inferior epigastric artery perforator (DIEP) flap for breast reconstruction with remarkable preservation of abdominal function. Her expertise extends to complex craniofacial repairs, where she utilizes three‑dimensional imaging and custom‑printed implants to correct congenital deformities with precision and aesthetic harmony. Each reconstructive case is approached with a meticulous focus on functional restoration, scar minimization, and the preservation of native tissue, reflecting her commitment to delivering outcomes that blend form and function seamlessly.

In the aesthetic realm, Dr. Turkle offers a full spectrum of facial and body procedures that integrate the latest technologies with timeless artistic principles. Her facial rejuvenation repertoire includes facelifts, brow lifts, and minimally invasive thread lifts, all performed with an emphasis on natural, age‑appropriate results. She employs advanced volume‑restoring techniques such as autologous fat grafting and hyaluronic acid fillers to achieve harmonious contouring, while leveraging laser resurfacing and radiofrequency devices to improve skin texture and tone. On the body, she specializes in liposuction, tummy tucks, and body lifts, employing strategic incision planning and progressive tension suturing to minimize postoperative scarring and accelerate recovery. Dr. Turkle’s nuanced understanding of proportion, symmetry, and the interplay of light and shadow informs every aesthetic decision, ensuring that each patient emerges with a refreshed yet authentic appearance.

Complementing her plastic surgery practice, Dr. Turkle maintains a collaborative relationship with dermatology specialists, recognizing the integral role that skin health plays in both reconstructive and cosmetic outcomes. She frequently partners with board‑certified dermatologists to manage pre‑operative skin conditions, such as acne, rosacea, and pigmentary disorders, thereby optimizing the surgical field and enhancing postoperative healing. This interdisciplinary approach enables her to incorporate dermatologic interventions—such as laser scar revision, chemical peels, and photodynamic therapy—into comprehensive treatment plans that address both the superficial and structural aspects of patient concerns. Her ability to synthesize plastic surgical techniques with dermatologic expertise positions her as a uniquely versatile surgeon capable of delivering holistic, long‑lasting results.

Her affiliation with the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) further underscores her dedication to interdisciplinary safety standards, ensuring that dermatologic and surgical interventions are coordinated seamlessly to minimize adverse events and enhance patient outcomes.

Dr. Turkle’s credentials include certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a testament to her mastery of both the scientific and artistic dimensions of the specialty. As a certified member, she undergoes regular peer review, recertification examinations, and participates in the Board’s ongoing educational programs, thereby maintaining a state of perpetual competence. Her commitment to safety is also reflected in her leadership role within the Indiana State Medical Association, where she advocates for statewide policies that prioritize patient protection, transparent reporting, and the implementation of evidence‑based surgical pathways.
