Rigorous Medical Education and Training
Dr. J Michael Conkright earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, an institution celebrated for its rigorous curriculum and commitment to fostering physician‑scientists. While at Ohio State, he distinguished himself academically, graduating with honors and receiving the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance. His undergraduate foundation in biomedical sciences was complemented by a series of research projects that explored wound healing dynamics and the molecular pathways of scar formation, laying the groundwork for his future focus on aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. The comprehensive training environment at Ohio State exposed him to a diverse patient population, sharpening his diagnostic acumen and reinforcing a patient‑first ethos that would become a hallmark of his practice.
Following medical school, Dr. Conkright pursued a highly competitive Plastic Surgery Residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center, where he completed a six‑year integrated program that combined general surgery fundamentals with specialized plastic surgery rotations. During his residency, he rotated through the Burn Unit, Craniofacial Team, and Microsurgery Laboratory, gaining hands‑on experience in complex reconstructions, free‑tissue transfers, and intricate facial osteotomies. His dedication to mastering the microsurgical technique earned him the Resident Scholar Award, recognizing his contributions to a multicenter study on flap viability and postoperative outcomes. This period also saw him develop a keen interest in aesthetic surgery, as he observed the profound psychological impact of facial rejuvenation on patients recovering from traumatic injuries.

Surgical Expertise
Dr. Conkright’s aesthetic surgery portfolio encompasses a full spectrum of procedures designed to enhance natural beauty while preserving individualized harmony. In the realm of breast augmentation, he employs a tailored approach that considers breast tissue characteristics, thoracic anatomy, and patient lifestyle to select the optimal implant type, shape, and placement. Whether utilizing silicone gel, saline, or form‑stable implants, Dr. Conkright emphasizes meticulous pocket dissection and precise suture techniques to minimize capsule formation and ensure a stable, long‑lasting result. His expertise extends to revisionary cases, where he skillfully addresses complications such as implant malposition, capsular contracture, and asymmetry, often employing advanced scar revision methods and autologous tissue reinforcement to restore both form and function.
Facial rejuvenation represents another cornerstone of Dr. Conkright’s practice, where he blends surgical artistry with cutting‑edge technology to achieve subtle, age‑appropriate enhancements. His repertoire includes facelifts, neck lifts, brow lifts, and eyelid surgery, each performed with a focus on preserving the patient’s unique facial architecture. Dr. Conkright is also adept at non‑surgical adjuncts such as injectable fillers, neuromodulators, and laser resurfacing, offering a comprehensive rejuvenation plan that addresses both deep structural changes and surface skin texture.
Body contouring procedures form the third pillar of Dr. Conkright’s surgical expertise, encompassing abdominoplasty, liposuction, thigh lift, and arm lift techniques. He approaches each case with a personalized contouring strategy, often combining liposuction with excisional procedures to achieve a smooth, natural silhouette. Advanced technologies such as power‑assisted liposuction and ultrasound‑assisted fat removal enable him to sculpt resistant adipose deposits while preserving vital structures and minimizing postoperative discomfort. Moreover, Dr. Conkright incorporates progressive tension sutures and meticulous hemostasis to reduce seroma formation and expedite recovery. His commitment to achieving balanced, proportionate results has earned him a reputation for delivering transformations that enhance both physique and confidence.
