This patient‑centered perspective drives every consultation, where he dedicates extensive time to listening, mapping facial and bodily landmarks, and establishing realistic, personalized goals. By aligning his surgical plan with the individual’s natural contours and long‑term health considerations, he ensures that aesthetic enhancements complement, rather than compromise, functional integrity. Immersed in a rigorous curriculum that emphasized both the foundational sciences and emerging clinical innovations, he distinguished himself through scholarly research on wound healing and reconstructive techniques. His time at Columbia was marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge, culminating in a senior thesis that explored the biomechanical properties of dermal matrices—a study that later informed his clinical practice in scar revision and tissue expansion. The demanding environment of New York City’s academic medical centers honed his ability to thrive under pressure, fostering a disciplined work ethic that would become the hallmark of his surgical career.
Following medical school, Dr. Perofsky embarked on a General Surgery residency at Mary Bassett Hospital, a training ground renowned for its high‑volume trauma and complex abdominal cases.
