Rigorous Medical Education and Training

Dr. Grant F. Koher earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from the esteemed Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he distinguished himself as a scholar‑practitioner committed to the holistic principles that underpin osteopathic medicine. His academic journey was marked by a relentless pursuit of excellence, culminating in a series of honors that recognized his mastery of anatomy, physiology, and surgical methodology. The rigorous curriculum at Philadelphia College emphasized not only the technical aspects of medicine but also the importance of treating the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—a philosophy that continues to inform Dr. Koher’s practice today. During his tenure, he engaged in extensive research projects focusing on regenerative tissue engineering, publishing findings that contributed to the evolving discourse on minimally invasive restorative techniques.

Following medical school, Dr. Koher completed a demanding residency in general surgery, where he honed his operative skills across a spectrum of complex procedures. His residency was distinguished by a series of rotations in trauma, oncology, and reconstructive surgery, each providing a crucible for developing the dexterity, decision‑making acumen, and compassionate bedside manner essential to a high‑caliber surgeon. He emerged from his residency with a deep appreciation for the intricate balance between surgical precision and patient-centered care, a balance that would later become the hallmark of his aesthetic practice. During this period, Dr. Koher also earned board certification, a testament to his commitment to meeting the highest standards of surgical competency.

To further specialize in the field of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Koher pursued a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at a nationally recognized academic medical center. This fellowship offered intensive exposure to advanced techniques in facial rejuvenation, body contouring, and microsurgical reconstruction, allowing him to master both traditional open procedures and emerging minimally invasive modalities. He also completed a dedicated research stint focused on hair restoration, exploring innovative grafting strategies and adjunctive therapies that would later become integral components of his practice. The culmination of his education—spanning osteopathic foundations, rigorous surgical residency, and subspecialty fellowship—has equipped Dr. Koher with a uniquely comprehensive skill set that seamlessly blends scientific rigor with artistic sensibility.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Koher’s surgical repertoire is anchored by a mastery of hair restoration surgery, a discipline that demands an exacting eye for detail, precision graft placement, and an intimate understanding of scalp physiology. Over the past decade, he has refined a proprietary technique that maximizes graft survival while delivering natural‑looking density, a method that has garnered acclaim from both peers and patients alike. His approach integrates state‑of‑the‑art follicular unit extraction (FUE) technology, allowing for minimally invasive harvest of donor follicles, and a meticulous graft orientation protocol that mimics the native hair growth pattern. The result is a seamless blend that restores not only hair volume but also the psychological confidence of individuals who have struggled with hair loss for years.

In addition to surgical hair restoration, Dr. Koher offers a comprehensive suite of non‑surgical hair loss treatments that address the condition from multiple angles. He employs a combination of platelet‑rich plasma (PRP) therapy, low‑level laser therapy (LLLT), and targeted pharmacologic regimens to stimulate follicular regeneration and halt progressive thinning. Each non‑surgical protocol is customized based on a thorough diagnostic workup that includes trichoscopic analysis, hormonal profiling, and patient lifestyle assessment. By integrating these modalities, Dr. Koher provides a continuum of care that can complement surgical outcomes or serve as a stand‑alone solution for patients seeking less invasive options.

Beyond hair restoration, Dr. Koher is a leading practitioner of anti‑aging treatments, offering a sophisticated portfolio that includes neuromodulators such as Botox and the dermal filler Belotero, as well as the volumizing agent Radiesse. His expertise in these injectables is grounded in a deep understanding of facial anatomy, allowing him to achieve subtle yet transformative results that enhance facial harmony while preserving natural expression. He employs a meticulous mapping technique to target dynamic lines, volume loss, and contour irregularities, ensuring each injection aligns with the patient’s aesthetic goals. Whether addressing crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, or mid‑face volume depletion, Dr. Koher’s precision-driven approach delivers outcomes that are both durable and indistinguishable from natural tissue, reinforcing his reputation as a trusted authority in aesthetic rejuvenation.

This affiliation ensures that his clinic remains at the forefront of best practices, with regular audits and peer reviews that safeguard the health and well‑being of each patient. Moreover, his involvement with the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) provides a multidisciplinary perspective that enriches his understanding of skin health, allowing him to anticipate and mitigate potential complications before they arise.
