Dr. Mozaffari believes that true beauty is a harmonious balance between form, function, and personal identity, and he dedicates himself to uncovering that equilibrium through meticulous consultation, transparent communication, and a collaborative design process. Rigorous Medical Education and Training
Dr. Farid Brad Mozaffari earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, an institution renowned for its rigorous curriculum and emphasis on both clinical acumen and research excellence. During his medical school tenure, he distinguished himself through a combination of academic prowess, leadership in student organizations, and a relentless curiosity about the intricate interplay between anatomy and surgical artistry. His dedication to mastering the fundamentals of medicine was complemented by a series of research projects that explored tissue regeneration and wound healing, laying a robust scientific foundation that would later inform his approach to reconstructive and aesthetic procedures.
Following medical school, Dr. Mozaffari pursued a residency in General Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, where he honed his technical dexterity and deepened his understanding of perioperative care. The general surgery residency exposed him to a broad spectrum of surgical disciplines—from emergent trauma interventions to complex abdominal operations—instilling a disciplined work ethic and an unwavering commitment to patient safety. Throughout this period, he consistently received commendations for his operative skill, his ability to remain composed under pressure, and his compassionate bedside manner, attributes that would become hallmarks of his later practice in plastic surgery.
Recognizing his passion for sculpting form and restoring function, Dr. Mozaffari then completed a dedicated residency in Plastic Surgery at the same university, a program that is nationally recognized for producing surgeons who excel in both reconstructive and aesthetic domains. This intensive training encompassed a wide array of subspecialties, including microsurgical free‑flap reconstruction, craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, and aesthetic facial and body procedures. He emerged from his plastic surgery residency with a comprehensive skill set, a refined aesthetic sensibility, and a scholarly portfolio of publications that contributed to the evolving body of knowledge in reconstructive techniques. The continuity of his education at the University of Cincinnati afforded him a cohesive mentorship network and a deep familiarity with the institution’s culture of excellence, which continues to influence his practice philosophy in San Diego.
Surgical Expertise
Dr. Mozaffari’s surgical repertoire spans the full continuum of plastic surgery, encompassing cosmetic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery with equal proficiency. In the realm of cosmetic surgery, he is celebrated for his meticulous attention to detail in facial rejuvenation, breast augmentation, and body contouring, employing state‑of‑the‑art technologies such as laser‑assisted lipolysis and high‑definition liposuction to achieve natural‑looking results. His aesthetic philosophy is guided by the principle that each enhancement should amplify the patient’s inherent beauty rather than impose a foreign template, a stance that has garnered him a loyal clientele who value subtlety and harmony over overt dramatics.
Reconstructive surgery represents another pillar of Dr. Mozaffari’s practice, wherein he applies his expertise to restore form and function after trauma, oncologic resections, or congenital anomalies. He has performed complex microsurgical free‑flap reconstructions for head and neck cancer patients, as well as intricate breast reconstructions following mastectomy, utilizing autologous tissue techniques that provide superior long‑term outcomes. His proficiency in managing challenging wound closures, scar revisions, and reconstructive procedures for burn victims underscores a compassionate commitment to improving quality of life for patients facing profound physical and emotional challenges.
Beyond the operating theater, Dr. Mozaffari remains at the forefront of aesthetic surgery innovation, integrating three‑dimensional imaging and computer‑guided planning to previsualize outcomes and enhance surgical precision. He routinely collaborates with multidisciplinary teams—including dermatologists, ophthalmologists, and orthodontists—to deliver comprehensive facial rejuvenation packages that address skin quality, volume loss, and structural support in a single, coordinated treatment plan. This collaborative, holistic approach not only maximizes aesthetic results but also minimizes the need for multiple procedures, thereby reducing overall patient downtime and enhancing satisfaction.
