Surgical Expertise

Dr. Watts’s surgical repertoire encompasses a full spectrum of plastic and reconstructive procedures, each executed with a meticulous attention to detail that reflects his dual training in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. In the realm of aesthetic surgery, he is renowned for his mastery of facial rejuvenation, including rhytidectomy, blepharoplasty, and facelift techniques that prioritize natural contours and minimize visible scarring. His approach integrates deep plane dissection with judicious fat repositioning, preserving the delicate neurovascular bundles that sustain facial expression and sensation. For patients seeking breast augmentation or reduction, Dr. Watts employs a personalized implant selection protocol that considers tissue thickness, chest wall dimensions, and lifestyle factors, ensuring outcomes that are both aesthetically pleasing and functionally sustainable. He is also adept at autologous breast reconstruction, utilizing DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator) flap techniques that spare the abdominal muscle, thereby reducing donor‑site morbidity and preserving core strength.

Beyond cosmetic procedures, Dr. Watts excels in complex reconstructive surgery, a domain where his general surgery foundation proves invaluable. He has successfully performed intricate flap reconstructions for trauma patients, addressing defects of the head and neck, extremities, and trunk with tissue‑preserving strategies that restore both form and function. His proficiency in microsurgery enables him to reestablish perfusion in compromised tissues, mitigating the risk of necrosis and expediting wound healing. In addition, Dr. Watts is a leading practitioner of burn reconstruction, employing serial excision, skin grafting, and scar remodeling techniques that optimize functional outcomes and reduce contracture formation. His comprehensive understanding of wound physiology, honed during his general surgery residency, allows him to anticipate and manage postoperative complications such as infection, seroma, and dehiscence with a proactive, evidence‑based approach.

Dr. Watts’s expertise also extends to minimally invasive body contouring, where he leverages advanced laser‑assisted lipolysis and high‑definition liposuction to sculpt the abdomen, flanks, and thighs. He utilizes three‑dimensional imaging to preoperatively map adipose distribution, ensuring precise removal while preserving critical neurovascular structures. In addition, he incorporates regenerative adjuncts such as platelet‑rich plasma (PRP) and stem‑cell enriched fat grafting to enhance tissue quality and accelerate recovery. His dedication to ongoing professional development is evident in his regular attendance at international conferences, where he both learns from and contributes to the evolving body of knowledge surrounding aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. This synthesis of broad surgical skill, innovative technique, and compassionate patient care solidifies Dr. Watts as a versatile surgeon capable of addressing the most demanding clinical challenges.
