His commitment to scholarly inquiry earned him multiple research grants, allowing him to investigate the role of extracellular matrix remodeling in postoperative outcomes—a line of inquiry that would later inform his refined surgical techniques. In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Hormozi served as a teaching assistant for medical students, honing his ability to convey complex concepts with clarity and empathy, a skill that now underpins his patient education efforts.

Following medical school, Dr. Hormozi completed a demanding general surgery residency at a high‑volume academic medical center, where he was exposed to a broad spectrum of operative cases ranging from emergent trauma to complex oncologic resections. This intensive training period sharpened his technical dexterity, decision‑making under pressure, and mastery of peri‑operative care. He consistently received commendations for his meticulous operative notes, his ability to anticipate intra‑operative challenges, and his compassionate handling of postoperative pain management. Recognizing his passion for aesthetic surgery, Dr. Hormozi pursued a dedicated fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery, during which he refined his expertise in microsurgical techniques, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring procedures. His fellowship mentors noted his exceptional hand‑eye coordination, his keen aesthetic judgment, and his unwavering commitment to patient safety.

Beyond formal training, Dr. Hormozi has achieved board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a testament to his adherence to the highest standards of clinical competence and ethical practice. He maintains active licensure in the state of Maryland and participates regularly in continuing medical education (CME) activities to ensure that his knowledge remains current. Moreover, he has completed specialized courses in advanced breast augmentation, laser‑assisted liposuction, and abdominoplasty, earning certifications that underscore his proficiency in the latest procedural innovations. His commitment to lifelong learning is further evidenced by his role as a peer reviewer for leading plastic surgery journals, where he evaluates emerging research for methodological rigor and clinical relevance, thereby contributing to the advancement of the specialty as a whole.

Surgical Expertise

In the realm of breast augmentation, Dr. Hormozi has earned a reputation for delivering results that balance natural aesthetics with personalized enhancement. He employs a comprehensive pre‑operative planning process that incorporates three‑dimensional imaging, precise measurements of chest wall dimensions, and an in‑depth discussion of implant options—including silicone versus saline, anatomical versus round, and textured versus smooth surfaces. His surgical technique emphasizes meticulous pocket dissection, often utilizing a dual‑plane approach to optimize implant positioning while minimizing the risk of capsular contracture. Dr. Hormozi’s nuanced understanding of breast anatomy enables him to tailor incision placement—whether inframammary, periareolar, or transaxillary—to each patient’s unique tissue characteristics and aesthetic goals. Post‑operative protocols under his care include targeted pain management, early mobilization, and structured follow‑up visits, ensuring that patients experience both rapid recovery and enduring satisfaction.

Liposuction, a cornerstone of body contouring, is performed by Dr. Hormozi with an emphasis on precision, safety, and long‑lasting results. He leverages advanced technologies such as power‑assisted liposuction (PAL) and laser‑assisted lipolysis to facilitate efficient fat removal while preserving surrounding structures. By employing a tumescent technique that infuses a buffered solution of lidocaine and epinephrine, he achieves profound analgesia and hemostasis, reducing intra‑operative blood loss and postoperative bruising. Dr. Hormozi’s expertise extends to targeted fat grafting, wherein harvested adipocytes are processed and reinjected into areas requiring volume restoration, such as the gluteal region or facial contours. This dual capability allows him to sculpt the body comprehensively, addressing both excess adipose tissue and volume deficits in a single operative session. He adheres to stringent safety protocols, including real‑time monitoring of patient and meticulous documentation of aspirated volumes, to mitigate the rare but serious complications associated with large‑volume liposuction.

Abdominoplasty, commonly known as a “tummy tuck,” represents a transformative procedure within Dr. Hormozi’s repertoire, particularly for patients seeking to restore a firm, toned midsection after significant weight loss or multiple pregnancies. His approach begins with a thorough assessment of abdominal wall laxity, scar placement, and the presence of diastasis recti. Dr. Hormozi employs a refined dissection technique that preserves the perforating blood vessels, thereby enhancing flap viability and reducing the risk of wound healing complications. He routinely incorporates progressive tension sutures to distribute tension evenly across the abdominal wall, minimizing seroma formation and accelerating the healing process. When indicated, he combines abdominoplasty with adjunctive procedures such as liposuction of the flanks or a fleur‑de‑lis incision to address lateral excess and achieve a harmonious, hourglass silhouette. His postoperative care regimen includes custom compression garments, detailed wound care instructions, and a structured physical therapy plan to support optimal functional recovery and aesthetic outcome.

Commitment to Patient Safety

Patient safety is the cornerstone of Dr. Hormozi’s practice, a principle that is reflected in his active membership and leadership roles within the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). As a certified member of ASPS, he adheres to the Society’s rigorous standards for ethical conduct, peer review, and continuous quality improvement. He regularly contributes to ASPS’s safety initiatives, including the development of best‑practice guidelines for peri‑operative antibiotic prophylaxis, venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk stratification, and postoperative pain management. Dr. Hormozi participates in ASPS’s national database, submitting detailed outcome metrics that enable benchmarking against peer institutions and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. His commitment to these standards ensures that every surgical encounter is guided by evidence‑based protocols designed to minimize complications and maximize patient well‑being.

In recognition of his unwavering dedication to safety and patient satisfaction, Dr. Hormozi was honored with the Patient Choice Award, a distinction awarded by an independent consumer advocacy organization that evaluates physicians based on patient reviews, clinical outcomes, and adherence to safety benchmarks. This award underscores his reputation for delivering care that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of his patients. The selection process for the Patient Choice Award involves a thorough analysis of postoperative complication rates, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), and satisfaction surveys—all of which consistently place Dr. Hormozi’s practice at the top tier of national rankings. The award serves as a testament to his meticulous attention to detail, from pre‑operative risk assessment to post‑operative follow‑up, and highlights his reputation as a surgeon who places patient safety at the forefront of his clinical decision‑making.

Beyond external recognitions, Dr. Hormozi has instituted a robust internal safety program that incorporates multiple layers of oversight. Prior to each procedure, a multidisciplinary team—including anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and surgical assistants—conducts a comprehensive safety briefing to verify patient identity, surgical site, and planned intervention, mirroring the World Health Organization’s Surgical Safety Checklist. Intra‑operatively, he utilizes real‑time monitoring technologies, such as pulse oximetry, capnography, and invasive blood pressure measurement for high‑risk cases, ensuring that any physiologic deviations are promptly addressed. Post‑operatively, he employs a structured follow‑up schedule that includes wound assessment, pain control evaluation, and early detection of potential complications such as infection, hematoma, or seroma formation. This systematic approach to safety not only reduces adverse events but also cultivates a culture of trust and confidence among his patients and staff alike.
