Her commitment to academic rigor was further demonstrated by her involvement in multiple research projects, culminating in peer‑reviewed publications that explored innovative techniques in tissue regeneration and wound healing, thereby contributing to the broader medical community’s understanding of reconstructive principles.

Following medical school, Dr. Martin pursued a competitive residency in general surgery, a pivotal phase that refined her operative dexterity and honed her decision‑making under pressure. Her residency program, renowned for its high case volume and diverse surgical exposure, offered her the opportunity to master complex abdominal procedures, emergency surgeries, and comprehensive postoperative management. The intensity of this training instilled in her a steadfast discipline and an unwavering focus on meticulous technique, attributes that later translated seamlessly into her plastic surgery practice. Throughout this period, Dr. Martin also cultivated a reputation for leadership, serving as chief resident and spearheading quality‑improvement initiatives that reduced surgical site infections and enhanced patient satisfaction scores across the department.

The culmination of her postgraduate education arrived with a prestigious fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at a leading academic medical center, where she refined her expertise in both aesthetic and restorative procedures. Under the mentorship of internationally recognized pioneers, Dr. Martin deepened her mastery of microsurgical techniques, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring, while also gaining exposure to cutting‑edge technologies such as laser‑assisted skin resurfacing and fat grafting. Her fellowship experience was marked by a series of high‑impact case studies, including complex craniofacial reconstructions for congenital anomalies and innovative breast reconstruction protocols following mastectomy. These formative experiences cemented her reputation as a surgeon who blends scientific rigor with artistic vision, preparing her to deliver world‑class care to patients in Glenview and beyond.

In the arena of facial reconstruction, Dr. Martin has restored form and function for patients suffering from severe facial fractures, cleft palate repairs, and skin cancer excisions, often employing microsurgical free‑tissue transfer to achieve optimal tissue integration and minimal donor‑site morbidity. Her dedication to functional restoration is evident in her thorough pre‑operative planning, which incorporates multidisciplinary input from otolaryngologists, oncologists, and speech therapists to ensure comprehensive care.

Dr. Martin’s surgical philosophy is further exemplified by her commitment to embracing emerging technologies that enhance both safety and results. She has incorporated laser‑assisted resurfacing, radiofrequency skin tightening, and ultrasonic liposuction into her practice, employing these tools to minimize operative time, reduce postoperative discomfort, and expedite recovery.
