Dr. Amar Paul Sidhu - Plastic Surgeon in Glendora, CA

Rigorous Medical Education and Training

Dr. Sidhu’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from a prestigious university, where his curiosity about cellular regeneration and tissue remodeling first blossomed. This foundation propelled him to Tulane University School of Medicine, where he earned his MD in 1999, graduating with honors and distinguishing himself through a series of research projects focused on wound healing and scar modulation. At Tulane, Dr. Sidhu immersed himself in a rigorous curriculum that blended basic science with clinical exposure, fostering a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of anatomy, physiology, and patient care.

Following medical school, Dr. Sidhu pursued a comprehensive residency in General Surgery, a crucible that honed his operative dexterity, decision‑making under pressure, and mastery of peri‑operative management. During this period, he rotated through high‑volume trauma centers, where he refined his ability to manage complex reconstructive challenges and emergent surgical scenarios. His commitment to excellence earned him multiple commendations for procedural competence, leadership, and compassionate patient interaction, laying a robust foundation for his subsequent subspecialty training.

Recognizing the growing synergy between dermatologic surgery and aesthetic reconstruction, Dr. Sidhu elected to complete a fellowship in Dermatologic Surgery, where he specialized in Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer excision, and advanced cosmetic procedures. This fellowship afforded him the opportunity to work alongside nationally recognized experts, to refine his microsurgical techniques, and to develop a nuanced understanding of skin biology. The culmination of his training—spanning general surgical fundamentals, dermatologic precision, and aesthetic artistry—has equipped Dr. Sidhu with a rare and valuable skill set that uniquely positions him to address the full spectrum of patient needs in Glendora and beyond.

Surgical Expertise

Dr. Sidhu’s surgical repertoire is anchored by a deep expertise in dermatologic surgery, where he has performed thousands of Mohs procedures with a documented cure rate exceeding 99%. His meticulous attention to margin control, combined with a sophisticated understanding of tissue plane dynamics, enables him to excise malignancies while preserving maximal healthy tissue—a balance that is essential for optimal aesthetic outcomes. In addition to Mohs surgery, Dr. Sidhu is adept at a wide array of skin cancer treatments, including excisional biopsies, cryotherapy, and laser ablation, tailoring each approach to the tumor’s histologic characteristics and the patient’s cosmetic goals.

Beyond oncologic care, Dr. Sidhu has cultivated a distinguished practice in cosmetic skin procedures, ranging from minimally invasive interventions such as injectable neuromodulators and dermal fillers to more extensive resurfacing techniques like fractional laser therapy and radiofrequency skin tightening. His mastery of these modalities is underscored by an ability to blend technology with artistic judgment, delivering results that are both subtle and transformative. Patients consistently commend his capacity to rejuvenate skin texture, restore volume, and attenuate the signs of aging while maintaining a natural, harmonious appearance.

Psoriasis management represents another pillar of Dr. Sidhu’s clinical portfolio. He employs a multimodal strategy that integrates systemic therapeutics, phototherapy, and targeted topical agents, all while remaining vigilant to the psychosocial impact of this chronic condition. His holistic approach often incorporates lifestyle counseling, nutritional optimization, and stress reduction techniques, recognizing that successful psoriasis control extends beyond pharmacology alone. Through this comprehensive care model, Dr. Sidhu has helped countless patients achieve sustained disease remission, improved quality of life, and restored confidence in their skin’s appearance.

Patient safety is the cornerstone of Dr. Sidhu’s practice, a principle reinforced by his active involvement in leading professional societies. As a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), he adheres to stringent clinical guidelines, participates in continuing education programs, and contributes to peer‑reviewed publications that advance the field’s standards. His affiliation with the Society of Mohs Surgeons further underscores his dedication to precision oncology, ensuring that each cancer excision is performed with the highest degree of accuracy and minimal morbidity.

Recognition of Dr. Sidhu’s dedication to excellence came in the form of the Dermatology Excellence Award in 2021, an honor bestowed upon clinicians who demonstrate outstanding patient outcomes, innovative practice models, and unwavering ethical standards. The following year, he was named the Top Dermatologist in Southern California, a distinction that reflects both his clinical acumen and his reputation among peers and patients alike. These accolades serve not only as personal milestones but also as public affirmations of his relentless pursuit of safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.

In daily practice, Dr. Sidhu implements a multi‑layered safety protocol that begins with comprehensive pre‑operative assessments, including detailed medical histories, risk stratification, and individualized consent processes. Intra‑operatively, he utilizes advanced monitoring technologies, sterile techniques, and evidence‑based anesthesia practices to mitigate complications. Post‑operative care is equally rigorous, featuring structured follow‑up schedules, patient education on wound care, and rapid response pathways for any adverse events. This systematic approach ensures that every patient, whether undergoing a simple skin lesion removal or a complex reconstructive procedure, receives care that is both safe and superior in quality.
